A Very Special Wedding Photography Story:

RMonRE(M) Regimental Headquarters in Monmouth

While my main focus as a photographer is commercial and corporate work, I still photograph a tiny selection of weddings each year. Having spent a decade as a full time wedding photographer, I now average about five weddings a year. Almost all of these come through personal recommendations, past clients, or family members who saw me in action at a relative's big day.

Every so often, a wedding comes along that feels particularly special to photograph. This summer brought one of those exact moments.

I had the honour of photographing the wedding of the incoming Commanding Officer of my old Army Reserve regiment, the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) – RMonRE(M). What made it even more meaningful was the location: the regimental headquarters in Monmouth.

A Personal Connection to RMonRE(M) HQ

Serving in the Army Reserves for 21 years was a huge part of my life, and 16 of those years were based right at the RMonRE(M) headquarters in Monmouth. Returning to a location filled with so many personal memories to document such a milestone was a fantastic experience.

I first met the Commanding Officer many years ago right at the start of his reserve career. Reconnecting after all this time and seeing him step into the role of Commanding Officer is incredible, and being trusted to capture his wedding day at the regimental headquarters was truly memorable.

Capturing Moments That Matter

Because I know the RMonRE(M) site so well, finding the best spots and natural light for the couple came easily. The day was filled with military traditions, great company, and a real celebration of two wonderful people.

Here are a few highlights from a brilliant day at RMonRE(M) Regimental Headquarters in Monmouth.
