Capturing Summer Memories with Bridgend County Borough Council
This summer, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a variety of events organised by Bridgend County Borough Council. From vibrant festivals to exhilarating fitness races, the events showcased the best of Bridgend County. Each one was a unique experience, brimming with energy, community spirit, and incredible moments.
The season kicked off with Beachfest and Rescue Fest in June. Porthcawl’s beautiful coastline came alive with music, beach and coastal activities, and a celebration of the brave individuals in rescue services. The atmosphere was electric, and it was fantastic to capture the joy of families and friends enjoying a day out together.
July was equally action-packed. The Run4Wales Porthcawl 10k saw runners of all ages and abilities take to the streets, cheered on by enthusiastic supporters. The determination and camaraderie on display were truly inspiring. Later in the month, the Bridgend Country Show offered a delightful mix of rural charm and entertainment, while the Rabbit Run in Merthyr Mawr brought adventure and challenge to a breathtaking landscape.
As August rolled in, I found myself immersed in the tranquil yet captivating vibes of the Between The Trees Festival in Merthyr Mawr. This festival stood out for its focus on nature, creativity, and meaningful conversations. It was a pleasure to document people sharing their expertise and passions against the stunning backdrop of the woods.
The summer wrapped up with the iconic Elvis Festival in Porthcawl. The festival was a sight to behold, with incredible performances and fans from near and far coming together to celebrate the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Throughout the season, I encountered amazing runners pushing their limits, passionate speakers sharing their knowledge, and phenomenal bands and singers lighting up the stage. One performer, in particular, left such a lasting impression that I’ve already got tickets to see them live in December!
Photographing these events was a privilege, allowing me to witness and document the vibrancy and diversity of the community. Bridgend County Borough truly knows how to bring people together and create unforgettable experiences. Here’s to many more moments like these!
